Salinas (Spanish pronunciation: [saˈlinas]) is a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico located in the southern coast of the island, south of Aibonito and Cayey; southeast of Coamo, east of Santa Isabel; and west of Guayama. Salinas is spread over 7 wards and Salinas Pueblo (The downtown area and the administrative center of the city).
It has long been a fishing spot for Puerto Ricans, known for its beaches, fish variety and the birthplace of the famous "mojito isle�o".

Salinas es un municipio en la parte sur de Puerto Rico se encuentra en la costa sur de la isla, al sur de Aibonito y Cayey; al sureste de Coamo, al este de Santa Isabel; y al oeste de Guayama.
Ha sido durante mucho tiempo un lugar de pesca para los puertorriqueños, conocido por sus playas, la variedad de pescado y el lugar de nacimiento del famoso mojito isleño.
